Dock Keep

Drag an icon a little too far and macOS removes it from the Dock, in a puff of smoke, with no undo. There is no built-in setting to prevent it. On a shared Mac, a classroom machine, or for anyone whose hands are not perfectly steady, that is a small daily tax.

Dock Keep writes the one macOS setting that freezes the Dock's contents, and knows how to undo it. It keeps named arrangements you can restore in a click, takes a snapshot of its own before it changes anything — including before a restore, so even that is reversible — and then re-reads the Dock to check the change really took, instead of reporting a success nobody verified.

The rule it never breaks: the app must never be the only way out. The manual unlock command is printed inside the app and on its website, it still works once the app is deleted, and the saved arrangements are ordinary property list files anyone can read without it.
